Uppidi pindi (Rice rava upma)

Ingredients::

Toor daal ::1/2 cup

Moong daal :: 1 cup

Rice :: 2 cups

Coconut :: 1 cup (desicated)

green chillies ::2

Red chillies :: 1

Ginger:: 1 inch

Curry leaves ::6 to 7

Urad daal :: 1 Teaspoon

Mustard seeds:: 1 teaspoon

Cumin seeds :: 1 teaspoon

salt :: 2 teaspoons

Oil ::2 tablespoons

Ghee :: 1 teaspoon

Procedure::

In a pan fry rice , toor daal, moong daal without oil until the daals get a little color.Let them cool for few minutes and grind into a coarse powder.Now in a deep pan a

heat oil and ghee and add urad daal, mustard seeds, cumin seeds ,red chillie, green chillie pieces, curry leaves, ginger pieces and fry for two minutes then add 6 cups of water and let the water come to a boil.Once the water starts to boil add salt and the coarsely grinded daal- rice rava slowly so there are no lumps stirring continuously.Once there are no lumps of rava put a lid and cook until the rava is tender on medium heat. Enjoy as is or with any chutneys.

Good for travel and as evening dinner as there is protein and carbs.
